Welcome to Martinez Elementary School

Opening in August 2024, Martinez Elementary School serves the Braswell High School attendance zone and is the 26th elementary school in Denton ISD.

Martinez Elementary is named for Dorothy Martinez, who was a longtime Denton ISD teacher and former member of the Board of School Trustees. Ms. Martinez served in multiple capacities for Denton ISD, including as a second- and third-grade teacher and as an English as a Second Language (ESL) supervisor.

Martinez Elementary will serve 750 students and was part of the $1.4 billion bond referendum that Denton ISD voters overwhelmingly approved in May 2023. The campus was designed by Pfluger Architects and was built by Balfour Beatty.
